Safeguarding

The Hackspace needs to ensure that working with children, and other vulnerable people, is done while following effective Safeguarding procedures. The reasons why safeguarding is necessary are to do with capability and responsibility; providing support is part of the culture of ensuring that use of the Hackspace meets agreed safety standards. Please note the cross-over with Health and Safety.

Please note that we must emphasise that Safeguarding does not just apply to children, it must also apply to vulnerable adults, and that it may not be immediately obvious that an adult is 'vulnerable'. We also draw attention to government guidelines on Safeguarding.
